Trump is signing a number of executive orders today (January 23). The first states that he wants to pull the U.S. out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP. TPP, the sweeping Asia-Pacific trade deal, has been sitting dormant in Congress for months and was roundly ripped by both sides in the presidential campaign.
Trump called it “the right thing for the American worker.” Trump also signed an executive order putting a freeze on all federal hiring except for the military. Lastly he also signed an order banning U.S. non-governmental organizations with federal funding from providing abortions abroad.
